Subscription Service Review: Sticker Swaps

Being a student (again) has been an exhausting and yet super rewarding experience, but it has certainly forced me to really think about how I spend my free time, and unfortunately, blogging has fallen to the wayside. But Reading Week is upon us and I have declared today to be a day off to do fun things, so let’s catch up on some reviews, starting with Sticker Swaps!

When I was younger, I was an avid sticker collector and spent huge portions of my allowance on stickers of all varieties, but Sandylion and Sanrio stickers were definitely my favorites. As an adult, I am still drawn to stickers, but wouldn’t really go out and buy them to put on things, I suppose eventually we have to “grow up”, although this hasn’t stopped me from putting a giant “sticker”/skin on the back of my laptop.

Sticker Swaps, which is based in the UK, reached out a while back and asked if I would be interested reviewing in their subscription service where subscribers are sent an envelope each month with high quality stickers and my inner child was like ‘YES!’. Sticker Swaps stickers are nothing like the ones of my childhood, but it did remind me of the ones that people put on their skateboards and of course, now I see a lot on laptops. As you can see – I received an envelope with 10 vinyl stickers of varying sizes and designs!

Living La Vida Local: Canova Pasticceria

Hey friends! I am still here and kind of around… Even though we all know that I am not one of the most consistent bloggers out there (ha!), I do try to keep up on social media and I am just going to say it now – school is killing me on all the social media fronts! Somehow, I decided that completing all my classes by April (just in time for June graduation) was a good idea and I am taking seven classes this semester. Past me was obviously more energetic than current me! One of the upsides and downsides to doing a MBA program is the tremendous amount of group work that happens. The perks are working with insanely fun and bright people, but the downside is definitely trying to coordinate the schedules of 5 people – I have had meetings at 9:30pm and that makes me a sad panda… The only thing that makes group meetings fun would be snacks and coffee (lots and lots of coffee!), so luckily for me (and my group), Canova Pasticceria reached out to share their story and they offered to put together a pastry tray for our MBA group so that we could see what they’re about and to provide feedback on their products.

Topbox Review: May – June 2016

Happy summer! I am super excited for this summer as it will be a combination of fun followed by school (eek!) as my course work is starting in August and not September, but before that, I am going to be out enjoying summer as much as humanly possible. Of course, what is summer without some construction? However, this year instead of just complaining about all the road construction, I am having some done at home too. There will be new highly efficient windows getting installed, but before that, comes all the cleaning, which means sorting through all my samples and that has been a trial… I am  definitely a “collector” of samples and have more than I can use so my recent Topboxes have just been sitting and waiting. But, I have at least gotten my act together and finally taken some photos for y’all.

Topbox Review: March – April 2016

It’s Topbox review time again! Here’s a double header coming your way especially since my May box is expected to show up very shortly… I’m not going to lie – I am beyond behind schedule in all things blog related and this post is going to be a very short one since I haven’t gotten around to doing anything except opening my last two boxes *insert sheepish smile here*.

Vegan Buffet at Narayanni’s

A few weeks ago, A. and I popped down to Whyte Ave after work to check out the Tuesday vegan buffet at Narayanni‘s. I have walked past Narayanni’s several times in the past, but have never gone in, so this was a first for me! To be honest, I had assumed that all the Indian buffet places were the same, so once I found one that worked, I kind of stopped looking for new places – shame on me… So really, I need to thank Narayanni’s for reaching out and inviting A. and I in for lunch/dinner. Unfortunately, I work all the way across the river so lunch is not an option but if you’re on the south side, Narayanni’s does offer a lunch buffet, which includes soup, salad, chicken curry and three vegan dishes for $12! The lunch buffet runs Tuesday – Friday from 11:30 – 1:30, but word to the wise – it’s a cash only lunch, so make sure you hit up the ATM before going.
