Giveaway: Edo a Little, Help a Lot

December has rolled around really quickly this year! I feel like time has flown by and now I am semi-scrambling to sort out my life before the end of the year. One thing that happens a lot at this time of year are all the holiday charity campaigns and I struggle to decide where I can donate my money and time when both are quite limited – this year more than most.

The Edmonton Food Bank and Campus Food Bank are two organizations that are really important to me, because people shouldn’t have to decide between basic needs like shelter and food, so I appreciate the support that organizations like these contribute to the community. Ideally, I would love to see people not need these services, but until that time, I try to donate whatever I can to both organizations. With the Alberta economy taking such a huge hit with the decline in oil prices, I know that many organizations need as much help as they can get to ensure that they can help as many people as possible.

Edo a Little. Help a Lot Campaign

Which brings us to Edo Japan’s latest holiday campaign to Edo a Little, Help a Lot! This campaign has been running for the past two years and they have raised $150,000 for food banks across Canada. Their goal this year is to raise $65,000 and you can help – with every spring roll you purchase (vegetarian or dessert) until January 1, 2017, $0.25 will go to your local food bank.

Edo Japan Dessert Spring Rolls!

Since being back at school, Edo and I have definitely rekindled our relationship… My favorite thing on the menu are the dessert spring rolls – they are like mini deep-fried apple pies! I seriously can’t get enough of them, and I am more than willing to eat more of them to ensure $0.25 from each of my purchases goes to the Edmonton Food Bank. Sacrifices – I know… :p

If you can only make it down to Edo Japan on one day for spring rolls, make it Saturday, December 10, as that is the day Edo is doubling up on their donation to local food banks. Your spring roll purchase on December 10 will provide food banks with a $0.50 donation from Edo Japan.

I have a $25 gift card to give away to a reader! I am going to try something new and get with the times with a widget type entry system. Rules are pretty simple – Just enter using the link below:

  1. Ways to help others – the ‘Santa for Seniors’ tag program from London Drugs, deliveries for Santa’s Anonymous. A little goes a long way to send Christmas cheer 🙂
