Topbox Review: June 2013

It’s been a busy week and I just realized I forgot to share my June Topbox with y’all. I wasn’t feeling the prive boxes this month, so I opted for the regular box and I am pretty happy with everything I received. I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t see the eco-packaging option though because I really don’t see the point to getting the fancier box when the eco one does the same job, so Topbox – I hope that the eco-packaging option comes back soon?

This month’s four items are mainly full sized so that was awesome – who doesn’t love full size stuff for a great price?

Belvada Cosmetics Mini Eyelash Curler

Belvada Cosmetics Mini Eyelash Curler

The Belvada mini eyelash curler is a plastic eyelash curler that is quite compact and good to toss into your purse for travel or everyday purposes. If I was going to curl my eyelashes at home, this would not be my first choice since I bought a Shu Uemera eyelash curler years ago and have never found anything that is better than that. But if I didn’t want to risk losing or breaking my Shu Uemera curler when traveling, I could see tossing this one into my makeup bag. I don’t know how sturdy it is since it is all plastic, but I probably wouldn’t be heartbroken if I accidentally broke it.

Benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss

Benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss

The Benefit Sugarbomb lip gloss has a nice pinkish-nude colour with a bit of shimmer to it, so I found it worked well with my skin tone. It went on nicely and I didn’t find it overly sticky like other glosses. The only thing I didn’t love about it is that it smells like a super sweet cupcake.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara

Jelly Pong Pong is a completely new brand for me but I love the name – it’s so adorable! Jelly Pong Pong is a UK brand and it looks interesting but I don’t know when I will get around to using this mascara I only have one set of eyelashes and maybe enough mascara to last a lifetime?!

Lise Watier Solo Eyeshadow in Bleu Curacao

Lise Watier Solo Eyeshadow in Bleu Curacao

Finally, we have the Lise Watier eyeshadow – I was a bit apprehensive about using this eyeshadow because this particular shade of blue always makes me think of the 1980’s and I think trends from that time should probably stay there. That being said, I might try to blend it with another shade and see how it looks. I did a quick swatch test and I like the way the shadow felt and it went on nicely. In fact, the colour was more translucent than expected so I think it’s something I can play around with during the summer.

So What Would Argenplath Pay?

I feel like this box had great value due to the number of full size products I received for $12.60. The total box value was $56.23 and there are a bunch of items I haven’t tried before – I am definitely looking forward to experimenting with these over the next few months.
