It’s that time again and as promised I have the other NARSxPierre Hardy nail polish duo up for y’all. Last time we were walking, but this week we’re running with ‘Ethno Run’. I picked ‘Ethno Run’ up from Sephora and it is available online at Sephora or NARS. As for the Manic(ure) Monday song of the week – I’ve decided on some Beyonce because in my mind, it just works for these colours (let me know if something else pops into your mind)?
I love the blue and orange colour combination of ‘Ethno Run’ and it is seems very on point for this summer. The contrast between the two colours is awesome and I love how pigmented the colours are. I never thought I would love orange nail polish this much but I do!
I am going to admit, I struggled a lot with this polish as I found the orange polish a bit streaky. but the blue was fine. In addition to the streaking – I don’t know what is going on but I keep getting little bubbles in my nails after applying the polish. It looks fine until they completely dry and then these tiny bubbles rise up, which is incredibly frustrating. I tend to get more bubbles when I use the blue as compared to the orange. Otherwise the polish is still super shiny and glossy and can be opaque with 2 coats. I would definitely recommend a base coat with these one as they can severely stain your nails.
I can’t comment too much on the wear time on these because the bubbles drove me so crazy that I had to remove the polish very quickly and I just didn’t have the energy to keep trying to get a smooth finish. I am going to go out on a limb and say it’s probably on par with the other NARS polishes and will give you 4-5 days of wear time with minimal tip wear.
So What Would Argenplath Pay?
Again, these limited edition duos are $32+tax, which works out to $16/bottle and that’s still cheaper than a regular bottle of NARS’ other polishes. However, I don’t know if I would recommend buying this duo since I’ve been having so much trouble with it and to be honest, I can’t tell it is me or the polish, although I haven’t had any bubble issues arise with other brands of polish but my sister Bel did a quick swatch and her nails looked ok so this might have to remain a mystery for now. If you did/do buy this – let me know how it turns out for you…
It might be your base coat that is causing the bubbles. Maybe try a different one and see if it helps!
